The best SEO and GEO agency in Brazil measures your brand’s presence in AI answers with an open method. It delivers work you can count, but it doesn’t promise a position or a citation. Agency rankings won’t help you choose a GEO agency, because each list we analyzed puts a different agency in first place.

In short

  • According to Google, no one can guarantee the top spot in its search results. Likewise, OpenAI doesn’t guarantee any site’s position in ChatGPT search.
  • Looking for the best SEO and GEO agency in Brazil? The 4 Brazilian lists we analyzed put 4 different agencies at the top.
  • So, to choose an SEO and GEO agency, compare how each one measures AI presence: prompts, engines, repetitions and margin of error.
  • Keep GA4, Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools in your company’s name, because that way you can check the report.

What should a GEO agency deliver?

An SEO and GEO agency should deliver a diagnosis, technical fixes, content, presence in third-party sources and a monthly report. The diagnosis sets a baseline with fixed prompts, and the report repeats the same measurement every month. As a result, each area produces deliverables you can count and check.

  • Diagnosis: a baseline with fixed prompts and a list of fixes.
  • Technical: AI crawlers allowed, a sitemap in Bing and indexed pages, so AI can read the site.
  • Content: pages that answer the highest-value questions, for example comparisons and prices.
  • Third-party sources: press, reviews and directories, because AI also cites what other sites say about the brand.
  • Measurement: a monthly report with the exported answers.

The names vary, but the work is the same: GEO agency, AEO agency, AI SEO agency or ChatGPT SEO agency. According to Google, optimizing for generative AI is among the useful services that SEO consultants and agencies offer. Google also notes that a small local business can probably do much of the work on its own.

Therefore, to choose the best SEO and GEO agency in Brazil, compare deliverables, not labels. If the topic is new to you, start with the guide to what GEO is.

Which promises are red flags?

Be wary of any SEO and GEO agency that guarantees a top Google ranking, a ChatGPT citation or a fixed spot in an AI list. After all, no agency controls the answer, and neither Google nor OpenAI guarantees a position.

  • “We guarantee the #1 spot on Google”: be wary, because Google itself says no one can guarantee that.
  • “ChatGPT will cite your brand”: be wary, since OpenAI doesn’t guarantee any site’s position.
  • “You’ll be #1 on the AI’s list”: the list changes almost every time, so there’s no fixed position.
  • “llms.txt solves it”: Google Search ignores this file, so ask the agency what the file is for and which engine uses it.
  • “One page for every question”: according to Google, doing this primarily to manipulate AI answers violates its scaled content abuse policy.
  • “We generate mentions at scale”: Google says inauthentic mentions aren’t as helpful as they might seem, since its systems block spam.

Why can’t any GEO agency guarantee citations?

Google is blunt on its page about hiring an SEO. “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google,” the page says. It also warns against SEOs that claim a “special relationship” with Google or won’t explain what they’ll do. Similarly, OpenAI says ChatGPT ranks search results using multiple factors and that placement isn’t guaranteed.

The list of brands also changes because AI generates each answer from scratch. In a SparkToro study, for example, 600 volunteers ran 12 prompts 2,961 times in ChatGPT, Claude and Google’s AI. The chance of ChatGPT or Google’s AI repeating the same list of brands was below 1 in 100. The same order showed up about once in 1,000 runs. Gumshoe.ai, a startup that sells AI tracking, partnered on the study. Therefore, a serious SEO and GEO agency doesn’t promise a fixed spot in AI answers.

Ads in ChatGPT aren’t GEO

OpenAI started testing ads in ChatGPT in the United States in February 2026 and, in August, launched them in Brazil. The company says ads don’t influence the answers and appear labeled as sponsored, separate from them. So buying ads in ChatGPT is paid media, not GEO. The same goes for Google: according to the company, advertising doesn’t change a site’s presence in organic results.

What should you ask a GEO agency in the meeting?

Before you choose a GEO agency, bring questions that force it to show its method, not just case studies. The list below adapts to GEO the questions Google suggests for hiring an SEO, and it adds measurement questions. After all, a good SEO and GEO agency answers with numbers, sample reports and clear limits.

  1. Which prompts will you track? Ask for the list, engines, country, language and number of repetitions, because each choice changes the result.
  2. What counts? The agency needs to separate mentions, linked citations and recommendations, since they’re different metrics.
  3. What’s the margin of error? Without it, for example, a change of a few points may just be chance.
  4. What results do you expect, and in what timeframe? Then ask how the agency measures success, as Google suggests.
  5. Do your recommendations follow official documentation? According to Google, it’s worth checking whether AEO and GEO advice matches its guidance on generative AI.
  6. Who does the work? Ask if the team is in-house or a white-label GEO partner, because that changes timelines and responsibilities.
  7. Which tool do you use? Ask which AI visibility tool the agency uses and whether you’ll get access to the dashboard.
  8. Can I see a real report? Ask for an anonymized report from another client, as well as references from your industry.

How do you evaluate the proposal and the report?

To choose a GEO agency, ask every candidate for the same format and compare them item by item. Cover everything from the measurement method to where your data goes when the contract ends. In general, a good proposal says what the agency will do and measure. A weak one, on the other hand, promises results and hides the method.

What to ask forRed flag
Fixed prompts, engines and repetitions“We monitor AI,” with no details
Presence, citations and recommendationsPosition in the AI’s ranking
A baseline before month 1A goal with no starting point
Countable deliverables, with deadlines“Ongoing optimization”
Exported answers and accounts in your nameData only in the agency’s dashboard
A contract that guarantees deliverablesGuaranteed citations or positions

The monthly report compares each month with the baseline, using the same prompts, engines and competitors. As a result, it separates what the agency delivered from what AI started to say. Also ask for the GEO metrics, each with the number of answers behind it.

The margin of error decides what counts as real change. In our guide on how to measure brand mentions and citations in AI, the protocol adds up to 1,000 answers a month. At that volume, only a change of more than 4 to 10 points counts, as long as the next month confirms it. If there’s a Looker Studio dashboard, ask for GA4, Search Console and presence rates side by side, but don’t add them together.

Finally, Rand Fishkin, cofounder of SparkToro, closed his study on answer variation with advice for anyone who pays for AI tracking:

“Before you spend a dime tracking AI visibility, make sure your provider answers the questions we’ve surfaced here and shows their math.”

Rand Fishkin, SparkToro (2026)

How much does an SEO and GEO agency cost in Brazil?

We found no public, sample-based survey of what an SEO and GEO agency charges in Brazil. In fact, the price ranges in Brazilian reais (R$) that circulate come from those who sell the service. So, when you choose a GEO agency, compare what each proposal includes, not just the monthly fee. Look at hours per area, tools, answer volume, content, PR and diagnosis.

For our guide on how to build and price a GEO service, we analyzed 7 pages about the price of this work. Of those, 3 listed ranges from R$1,500 to R$40,000 a month, not counting ranges with no ceiling. But all 3 came from agencies that sell the service.

Part of the price difference comes from collection volume, because more answers take more hours or more tooling. However, a small collection is costly in another way: with 30 answers a month, the margin of error is 18 to 31 points, plus or minus.

Also ask what the agency charges separately, such as the diagnosis and the monitoring tool. Finally, compare the cost with the SEO and GEO return measured in conversions.

How do you measure what the GEO agency delivers without relying on it?

Keep the accounts in your company’s name and check the report against your own data. After all, GA4, Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools are free and show traffic and AI presence. Your own sample of prompts completes the check.

  • Access: invite the agency as a user on the company’s accounts. During an audit, in fact, Google recommends granting only read access to Search Console.
  • Google: according to Google’s guide, the Generative AI performance report in Search Console measures how content performs in Search’s AI features.
  • Microsoft: the AI Performance report in Bing Webmaster Tools counts your pages’ citations in Copilot, as well as in Bing’s AI summaries.
  • GA4: the AI Assistant channel groups visits from assistants such as ChatGPT and Gemini. But some of them land in Referral or Direct, as the guide to AI traffic in GA4 shows.
  • Your own sample: run 15 to 20 category questions, 5 times in 2 engines, as in the free GEO audit checklist. Thus, you read up to 200 answers a month.

Compare the trend, not the exact number, because different collections give different numbers. If your sample outgrows a spreadsheet, sign up for a GEO tool in your company’s name. Then you can measure your presence in AI answers without relying on the SEO and GEO agency.

What we found when we analyzed 6 SEO and GEO agency rankings

We analyzed 6 lists of top agencies in Portuguese, found in 9 searches about the best SEO and GEO agency. Four cover the Brazilian market, and three of those ran on news sites. On the other hand, two come from an SEO tools company and don’t even mention Brazil.

  • First place: each list puts a different agency at the top, so there’s no consensus.
  • Criteria: 5 of the 6 cite criteria, but only 2 say how much each one weighs.
  • Measurement: only 1 says it measured the presence of the agencies’ clients in AI answers, but it doesn’t publish the numbers.
  • Independence: only 1 states that no agency paid for its spot. Meanwhile, another discloses that the second-place agency belongs to the author’s own business group.
  • Repetition: two lists on different news sites, eight days apart, share 6 agencies, similar text and the same case-study numbers. Both also include a phone number and email for each agency.

Therefore, this guide doesn’t name the best SEO and GEO agency in Brazil. Instead, it shows how to choose a GEO agency among the ones you’re already considering.

Frequently asked questions

Are a GEO agency, an AEO agency and an AI SEO agency the same thing?

In practice, yes, because all three names describe the work of getting a brand into AI answers. The foundation is still SEO, and Google lists optimizing for generative AI among the services of SEO consultants and agencies. So, when you choose an SEO and GEO agency in Brazil, look at the scope and the measurement method, not the name.

Is it better to hire an AI SEO consultant or an agency?

It depends on who will do the work. If your team has time, an AI SEO consultant can deliver a diagnosis, a plan and training. However, if you’re short on people, an agency does the work every month. In both cases, the same criteria apply: an open measurement method, countable deliverables and no guaranteed citations.

Does advertising in ChatGPT make your brand show up in the answers?

No, because, according to OpenAI, ads don’t influence ChatGPT’s answers. They appear labeled as sponsored, separate from the answer, and they reached Brazil in August 2026. So ads in ChatGPT are paid media, while presence in the answers depends on content, third-party sources and technical access.
